Program Overview — Explained by Esse India

What is the Canadian Experience Class?

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is one of three federal streams managed through Express Entry (alongside FSWP and FSTP). It's designed specifically for skilled workers who have already gained work experience in Canada — making it the most direct path to PR for those already living and working in the country. Esse India reviews your work permit history and offer letters to confirm your eligibility before you apply.

Already in Canada

CEC is for candidates who have already worked in Canada — you don't need to be outside the country to apply. Esse India can assist your file from India or from within Canada.

Fastest PR Pathway

Since you already have Canadian work experience, your profile is often stronger — leading to faster Invitations to Apply. Esse India helps you time your profile submission.

Same CRS Pool

Once eligible, your profile competes in the same Express Entry pool as FSWP and FSTP candidates for an Invitation to Apply — Esse India optimizes your CRS score across all factors.

Stackable with PNP

A provincial nomination can add 600 CRS points on top of your CEC-based profile. Esse India tracks PNP draws relevant to your occupation.

Why Choose CEC with Esse India

Benefits of the Canadian Experience Class

CEC offers a unique pathway for those already contributing to Canada's economy. Here's what Esse India's clients typically value most.

Faster Processing

Since your Canadian work experience is already verified, CEC applications often process faster than other streams. Esse India monitors your file at every IRCC checkpoint.

No Settlement Funds Required

Unlike FSWP, CEC applicants don't need to show proof of settlement funds — you're already established in Canada. Esse India confirms this exemption applies to your case.

No ECA Required

CEC doesn't require an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for your foreign education. Esse India tells you if any other stream would need one.

Family Included

Your spouse and dependent children can be included in your application and receive PR status alongside you — Esse India files the full family unit together.

Eligibility Requirements — Verified by Esse India

Do you qualify for CEC?

To be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class, you must meet the following minimum requirements. Esse India cross-checks each one against IRCC's current published criteria before your profile goes live.

Requirement 1

At least 1 year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) skilled work experience in Canada within the last 3 years before applying.

  • Must be in a skilled occupation (TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3)
  • Work must be authorized under a valid work permit
  • Self-employment doesn't count
  • Can be multiple jobs combined
Requirement 2

Language Ability

Minimum language requirements based on your NOC TEER level:

  • TEER 0 or 1: CLB 7 (IELTS 6.0 each)
  • TEER 2 or 3: CLB 5 (IELTS 4.0 each)
  • Test results must be under 2 years old
  • Can be in English or French
Requirement 3

Legal Status

You must have had valid temporary resident status during your work experience in Canada.

  • Work permit must have been valid
  • You must be in Canada at the time of application
  • Maintained status throughout the work period

Esse India reviews your immigration history to confirm status was maintained throughout.
